Rehab Protocols

In order for a surgical procedure to maximally successful, the patient must follow the rehabilitation guidelines  with a trained physical therapist for their particular procedure.  This allows for healing of the surgical site while gaining motion and strength back in the limb in a safe manner that doesn't disrupt the healing process.  In many cases "more is not better"  and "no pain,  no gain" does not hold true.  Even in healthy individuals, soft tissue healing takes months and therefore specific rehabilitation protocols were created for each procedure.  This helps ensure that maximal improvement can be obtained from surgery as quickly and safely as possible.
